On June 22, the 6th European Bioplastics Research Network (EBRN) counted on the presence of the UPLIFT project. There, Alberto Barranca, researcher at AIMPLAS gave a quick presentation about the initiative in the framework of plastics and the European Union policies.

 

The session was revolving around insights from 10 Horizon projects: EU policy for bio-based and biodegradable plastics. The event was organized by the BIO-PLASTICS EUROPE project which brought together representatives of 10 Horizon projects as well as numerous EU policy officers in the field of bio-based and biodegradable plastics to discuss recommendations to EU policy for these materials.

 

The session included several discussions as well as a round table with the experts and the representatives for each European initiative.

 

The Bio Plastics Europe project is an H2020 initiative which seeks to develop and implement sustainability-based solutions for bio-based plastic production and use to preserve land and sea environmental quality in Europe.
